Business Architecture

The Ministry of the Environment of Ontario, Canada, faces tremendous challenges to ensure that the water quality in the province of Ontario is safe for its citizens.  The current business process relies on information managed by many segregated systems. That is why the Ministry decided to create a Drinking Water Programs Common Identifier Relationship Management System (CIRMS).   CIRMS will be the authoritative information source for all drinking water registration processes.   With this information, the Ministry can accurately track all drinking water systems in Ontario.  Being a central registration system, CIRMS has tremendous strategic impact as its information feeds many other systems in the Ministry, and the information contains strategic value to the managing bodies within the Ministry.

Mesh Innovations Inc. was engaged by the Ministry to create the business and logical architecture for CIRMS.  Mesh fielded a team of Information and Application Architects that specialize in the Zachman based Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework.  Following that framework, our team created a set of row 1 to row 3 artifacts that are accurate and reusable.  Due to our system implementation experience, we were able to create very detailed, object-oriented artifacts that contain system level requirements ready for the designers and developers.  From contextual, to conceptual, and finally to logical, our artifacts are complete, EA compliant, and very practical.
